Bituminous felt roofing offers a cost effective solution to flats roofs. Traditionally these comprised 2 or 3 layers of bitumen felt laid in oxidised bitumen with solar reflective chippings to protect the surface from UV radiation. These roofs have a limited life expectancy.  In order to overcome these deficiencies polyester reinforced felts with polymer modified bitumen and mineral finishes were developed which offered longer life expectancy and overall performance. These products were further developed to allow torch on application.

 

Projects are undertaken using specialised systems from Alumasc, Bauder, Delta,  Icopal, Marley and other leading manufacturers. Vapour control layers, uniform thickness and cut to falls insulation can be specified according to site requirements.   Systems are available with a choice of 10, 15 and 20 years guarantees.

 

Elliotts Premier Roofing Limited undertake all aspects of felt roofing including new build of refurbishment projects working for main contractors, local authorities, commercial and domestic clients.  As part of our service we can supply and install rooflights within the roof system to provide an effective and economical way of introducing natural light and ventilation to rooms without access to external walls. These may be glazed with polycarbonate complying with HSE HSG33 regulations providing safe work areas during maintenance.  For light and ventilation in larger areas continuous barrel rooflights can be installed.
